A fan in Georgia cost the home team the game after throwing a stuffed animal on the court during a foul shot at the end of the game.

Georgia had just tied the game at 67 on a three pointer with 10 seconds left on the clock.  They then fouled a Mississippi State player, putting him on the free throw line for a 1-and-1 with just .5 on the clock.

The Mississippi State player missed the free throw and the game should have gone into overtime.  But it didn’t because a fan had thrown a stuffed animal on the court during the free throw.

Georgia, the home team, was given a technical foul for the stuffed animal.  Mississippi State made the free throw and won the game 68-67.

What a way to lose a game.  Whoever threw the stuffed animal probably got out of the arena as fast as they possibly could.
