The Los Angeles Dodgers are in first place in the National League West after taking three out of four games against the Arizona Diamondbacks.  On Sunday the Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Rockies all shared the top spot.

That came to an end after Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp narrowly missed a home run and drove in two runs on a walk-off double to give Los Angeles sole possession of first place.

It was Kemp’s second time playing hero in two days.  On Saturday he hit a three run home run in the 8th inning that ended up being the game winner.

Kemp and the Dodgers are heating up at the right time.  Every game from now until the postseason matters, the Dodgers are essentially already playing postseason baseball.  They will need to pile up the wins if they want to create any kind of separation between themselves and the two teams biting at their heels.

Things are going to go down to the wire out west in the National League.
