The New York Mets have traded Matt Harvey to the Cincinnati Reds for catcher Devin Mesoraco. The move comes a few days after they designated him for assignment when he refused to accept a minor league assignment.
The best part of Harvey's trade to the Reds is he thought he was avoiding the minor leagues by refusing to accept the assignment from the Mets.
On a completely different note, Harvey is about to do some real damage on some Skyline Chili. He'll also give Joey Votto a real run for his money as the biggest asshole in a Reds jersey.
Here’s the Mets special assistant to the GM, J.P. Ricciardi, sharing his thoughts on the trade.
The Mets have to be overjoyed by the deal. Not only do they did themselves of the Harvey cancer, they got something for a guy they were prepared to let walk.
