The Phillies split a doubleheader on Thursday with the Mets. The first game made some history as they momentarily forgot how to play baseball and allowed the Mets to score 24 runs.
The Mets became the first team in the Modern Era to win and lose games in the same season by at least 20 runs .
At one point the Phillies completely gave up and had a couple of position players pitch.
Philadelphia bounced back in the second game and only allowed the Mets to score 6 runs. The win kept them only a game and a half behind the Braves in the NL East.
