Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be temporarily suspended on Oct. 15, according to Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett.

A hearing will take place on Oct. 24th on whether they should be indefinitely suspended pending their investigations.

Following their UFC 229 lightweight title bout last Saturday in Las Vegas, in which Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor by fourth-round submission, the Dagestan native leaped over the Octagon cage and into the crowd in an attempt to fight members of McGregor's team. While this occurred, McGregor climbed the cage as well and threw a punch at a member of Nurmagomedov's team who came at him.

Nurmagomedov is likely to receive a sanction for starting the postfight brawl. According to sources, it is likely McGregor will also receive a sanction for jumping on the cage.

Nurmagomedov, unlike McGregor, has yet to receive his full purse for fighting on Saturday. Bennett would not comment on why this is still the case.

What did Conor do to deserve  a suspension?

Great question.
