She started from the bottom

ESPN’s Doris Burke received one of sports media’s greatest awards, the Curt Gowdy Media Award. This is an annual award given by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for excellence in basketball reporting.

Burke joins a short list of the greatest broadcasters and writers in basketball history including Dick Vitale, Jim Nantz and the late Craig Sager.

Burke accepted the award in Springfield, Massachusetts where she gave a speech giving thanks to several NBA players and coaches, including Lebron James and Steve Kerr.

"To the players and the coaches of the NBA -- Rick Carlisle, LeBron James, Steve Kerr, Chris Paul, and many many others," Burke said, "your private words of support to me, and your public statements of support of my work, went far beyond what you could imagine. And the confidence that I had to do the job ESPN has given me."

Not only has she has been an inspiration to numerous male athletes and coaches, but she caught the eye of the one and only Drake, a few years back.

Screw the Curt Gowdy Media Award, this is the moment Doris Burke made it! I'm still waiting on Drake to post his congratulations to his 'Everyday' woman crush.
