ESPN's NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, announced on Saturday night that Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves have agreed to a five-year max extension. The deal is worth $190 million.
The drama in Minnesota with Jimmy Butler must not be enough for Towns to turn down $190 million. Minnesota is clearly all in with Towns, so it will be interesting going forward to see what they decide to do with Butler as the season approaches.
Timberwolves fans have to be happy they locked up the former number one pick for several more years. They still need a few more pieces to be a legit contender, but this is a pretty good start.
