Spot on

On Sunday the Texans came away with a 19-17 win against the Broncos in Denver.  A questionable decision before halftime on the part of Broncos head coach Vance Joseph proved to be the difference.

With 23 seconds left before halftime and the Texans up 13-10, Joseph sent out kicker Brandon McManus to attempt a 62-yard field goal.  He missed the kick, giving the Texans a shot at putting points on the board themselves.

Had the Broncos punted, the Texans would have likely taken a knee from deep in their own territory.  The missed kick gave them decent field position and 18 seconds on the clock to setup a field goal attempt of their own.

That's exactly what the Texans did.  Completions to Ryan Griffin and DeAndre Hopkins set Houston up for a 46-yard field goal attempt.

The kick was good, the Texans took a 16-10 into the half and Houston's head coach Bill O'Brien was spotted thanking Vance Joseph for the gift.

That seems like a fair assessment of the situation on O'Brien's part.
