Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been benched in favor of backup Ryan Fitzpatrick.  On Thursday the 24-year-old spoke to the media for the first time since the Bucs made the announcement.

Winston called the benching a minor setback for a major comeback.  A comeback, that if Fitzpatrick plays well, may come with a different team.

Via Tampa Bay Times:

“It’s a setback,” Winston added. “But it’s a minor setback for a major comeback. It just tells you that you’ve got to continue to get better. I’ve never been in this situation before, so I have to learn from it and I have to grow from it. I have no choice.”

Winston’s problems off the field, coupled with his struggles on it, have many calling for the Bucs to move on from the former Heisman Trophy winner.
