The Cleveland Browns traded QB DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers for receiver Damarious Randall.  Because that’s what they do.

With the Kizer trade, the Browns’ history of getting rid of quarterbacks within three years of drafting them is complete. They’ve now traded or waived every single quarterback they’ve drafted in the first two rounds since 2000 within three years of drafting them.

Great job Cleveland.

The move probably means they’re going to draft another quarterback in the first round this season.  So we can expect whoever that is to only be in a Browns jersey for 3 years at the most.

The Browns did pick up quarterback Tyrod Taylor via a trade with the Buffalo Bills.  But he’s probably going to be the guy until the drafted QB is ready to take over.

On the flip side the Green Bay Packers don’t need to draft a replacement for Aaron Rodgers.  He’s on the roster now.
