The Oakland Raiders have released punter Marquette King.  The move saves around $3 million in cap space, but that isn’t the reason he was released.

According to NFL reporter Bill Williamson, the release was a message from new head coach Jon Gruden.  The message remains unclear and King was not informed of the message.

The message is likely that there won’t be any fun in Oakland anymore.  King wasn’t just one of the best punters in the NFL, he is one of the most entertaining players in the league.

King sent out a simple message on Instagram saying goodbye to the Raiders.

King won’t remain a free agent for very long.  There are plenty of teams that won’t mind his entertaining kicking style, because at the end of the day, it’s all about the result of the kick.
