NASCAR announced that it was banning the display of the Confederate Flag at all its events. That move immediately garnered praise from a number of athletes in different sports.
One of those athletes was former Tennessee and current New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara. Interested by NASCAR banning the Confederate Flag, Kamara made plans to tune into the next race.
“when the next race??” asked Kamara on Twitter as he added a popcorn emoji at the end.
NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, also a Tennessee football fan, replied with some good news for Kamara and any other sports fan who may be looking to check out the sport after today’s news.
“My G! Tonight! #VFL,” Wallace replied to Kamara.
Wallace actually called upon NASCAR to remove the Confederate Flag imagery from its culture. In an interview with NBC Sports, Wallace explained that the flag doesn’t represent anything positive to a large swath of people.
Now add Kamara as a fan to the New less racist NASCAR.
