Conor McGregor has revealed that David Beckham joked that he wanted to 'get into fighting' when he visited him in 2017.

Beckham enjoyed a tour of the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas prior to McGregor's crossover fight against Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor revealed that he has much respect for what former Manchester United star Beckham has achieved both on and off the pitch.

Via The Sun:

'He was at the Ultimate Fighting Championship performance institute where I prepared for the Floyd fight [and] put up a post and tagged me in it. 'We were talking about it and he said, 'It makes me want to get into fighting'. 'I was like, 'Say no more David. We can make that happen, you know we can make that happen if you want'. 'So we had a little laugh about it.'

Maybe Conor can train him?

McGregor was beaten by Mayweather, with the latter winning by a TKO in the tenth round.

Following that loss, McGregor returned to UFC. He was beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 before overcoming Donald Cerrone in January this year.

Last weekend McGregor announced his retirement from UFC for the third time.
