Lightweight contender Dan Hooker mocked Max Rohskopf for quitting on the stool during his UFC debut then deleted his tweet after receiving backlash online.
Rohskopf had to call for a UFC official to stop his fight with Austin Hubbard because coach Robert Drysdale refused to end the fight.
In between the second and third rounds, the 25-year-old told his corner that he could no longer continue.
The lightweight clash was eventually halted with his team subject to criticism by the MMA community.
However, Hooker, who faces Dustin Poirier on Saturday, was far less sympathetic as he took to social media to slam the young fighter.
On Twitter, he wrote: "How do you get into the UFC without realising you're made of marshmallows?"
Hooker's tweet didn't go down too well with fans who slammed the UFC star for his cruel post.
'The Hangman' then deleted his tweet after backlash from social media.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White defended Rohskopf's decision while hitting back at anyone who criticized the stoppage.
