The Baltimore Orioles traded right-hander Dean Kremer to the Minnesota Twins for outfielder Jhomnardo Reyes, the clubs announced Friday.
Minnesota adds Kremer one day after trading for high-leverage reliever A.J. Minter in a deal with the New York Mets.
Kremer is having a rough season, recording a 6.50 ERA with 9.5 K/9 over 36 innings (seven starts) and missing significant time due to a quad strain. However, the 30-year-old posted a 3.95 ERA with 1.25 WHIP over 599 1/3 innings (106 starts) between 2022 and 2025.
Reyes, 18, was the No. 24-ranked prospect in the Twins’ minor-league system, according to MLB Pipeline.
The Twins plan to continue adding players before the trade deadline, with their front office now focused on acquiring a right-handed, late-inning reliever, a source told The Athletic’s Dan Hayes and Ken Rosenthal.
