Jennifer Lopez got her big break as a “Fly Girl” dancer on the show In Living Color, performing dance routines between sketches. This is where she got her big break.
Her boyfriend posted a video, as he was reminded of J-Lo’s start in the business.
J.Lo appeared on the show on Seasons 3 and 4, between 1991-1993.
Lopez credits “In Living Color” host and creator Keenan Ivory Wayans for discovering her and placing her on primetime TV.
“He just saw something in me,” Lopez once said, according to Us Weekly. “He would always tell me, ‘You’re going to be a big star.’”
“I’d been there hours and seen every dancer in New York, and then this young girl steps up and a spotlight landed on her and she captivated everyone in the room,” Keenan once recalled in a 2019 episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music.”
However, another famous Latina credits herself for discovering J.Lo and placing her as a dancer on “In Living Color.”
Rosie Perez was the lead choreographer of the Fly Girls and says she discovered J.Lo.
At any rate, that Fly Girl ended up being J-Lo.
