Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers addressed the firing of head coach Mike McCarthy from the Green Bay locker room.  His comments were his first since Green Bay announced the move.

It also comes on the heels of Rodgers’ surprise Cowboy themed Murder Mystery party, which went on as planned despite the loss and McCarthy’s firing.

“Right now, I’m just focused on these next four games and the direction that we’re going with Joe.  I think we all share in the responsibility.  That’s the toughest part.  The players are the ones that are playing and obviously coaches have responsibilities to prepare, and teach and demand, but the players are on the field performing, and obviously our performance level wasn’t such that we could keep Mike in his place.”

Rodgers doesn’t seem to be too broken up about the firing.  In fact, he sounds ready to move on.

Not exactly surprising given the reports of Rodgers and McCarthy’s strained relationship.
