46-year-old Alabama fan Robert Bowers, who lives in Louisiana, has died from injuries suffered during a bar fight with two LSU fans.  The men reportedly got in an argument over last Saturday’s Alabama and LSU game.

The argument ended with the two LSU fans knocking Bowers unconscious.  The men have been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

A family member tells WBRZ that Bowers, a Louisiana resident, was an adamant fan of the Crimson Tide and had gone out to watch the Bama-LSU game earlier that night. They believe the attack was motivated by Bowers’ fandom.

The Advocate reports Police Chief Bry Layrisson believes the fight began as an argument over the LSU game.

The men who allegedly attacked Bowers, identified as 27-year-old Azia Crockett and 24-year-old Ryan Anthony, have been arrested and booked on felony manslaughter charges.

This is taking College Football way too seriously, even for LSU fans.  You can’t go around beating people to death, because of a football game.
