Alex Ovechkin has been having a great time since the Caps defeated the Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Finals. And he’s had the cup with him every step of the way.
At the end of the Capitals Stanley Cup championship parade after party, the captain spent his final moments alone slow dancing with the Stanley Cup. His wife, Nastasiya Ovechkina, documented the magical moment on her Instagram story.
What a moment it was. He will still get his “Day with the Cup” over the summer, but for now it will be back in the hands of the keeper of the cup.
They’ll always have this slow dance to remember each other, until they meet again.
