Redskins quarterback Alex Smith has been wearing a brace on his broken leg for the last eight months. On Monday his wife Elizabeth posted the good news on Instagram, calling the removal of the brace a “big milestone.”
Smith’s future in the NFL, following the devastating leg injury that ended his season, isn’t clear at this point, but his goal is to play again and his wife hinted at that in her post.
