Redskins quarterback Alex Smith talked to Angie Goff of FOX5 DC about his recovery and whether or not he plans on making a return to football.

During the interview, the 35-year-old revealed that he plans to play football again, but acknowledged he has a few things to overcome first.

“That’s the plan.  I’ve got to conquer some more steps before I get there… learn to run again, that was a big one.”

Smith also talked about the external fixator he’s still wearing to help him recover and from the sounds of it, he’s still not out of the woods.

“I’ve got this crazy contraption that nobody’s ever seen before on my leg that comes from, like, Siberia.  Believe it or not, it’s supposed to save my leg, save my bone, allow me to heal and walk again and hopefully play football again.”

This doesn’t sound worth it at all.  Take all that guaranteed money, focus on learning how to walk again and enjoy your family.
