The Washington Redskins received what they wanted most with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft: a potential high-impact player.

The Redskins selected Ohio State defensive end Chase Young on Thursday, ending months of speculation by doing what many long ago predicted they would.

“I’ve dreamed of going to the NFL since I was about 6 years old,” Young said. “Like they say, you put the blood, sweat and tears into it. I believe I’ve done that all my life. It feels good to be in this moment.”

In Young’s mind, he should have gone with the first pick, but the Cincinnati Bengals used it on quarterback Joe Burrow.

And maybe he wasn’t too keen on playing in Washington.

In fact, an old tweet of his was unearthed.
