Former Mets All-Star pitcher Matt Harvey was designated for assignment on Friday night by the Los Angeles Angels.  He signed a one-year, $11 million deal with them in the off-season.

It’s safe to say the Angels gamble on Harvey did not pay off.  The 30-year-old was a 3-5 with a 7.09 ERA in 12 starts for the Angels.
