The Oakland A’s sent a group of executives to meet with Kyler Murray on Sunday in hopes of getting the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback to choose baseball.

Reports are the A’s believe he will enter the NFL Draft and this meeting was a last ditch effort to change his mind.  The deadline to enter the draft is Monday.

The summit comes a day before the deadline to declare for the NFL draft, which the A’s believe Murray plans to do. While a decision on baseball vs. football is not expected Sunday, according to sources, Murray’s football prospects seemingly have grown strong enough to compel Oakland to re-recruit the 21-year-old.

All signs point to Murray entering the draft.  Short of a new contract with more money from Oakland, he’ll likely give a career in the NFL a shot.
