The A’s lost more than the game on Wednesday. Third basrman Matt Chapman left the 6-4 loss to the Royals early after he took a 91 MPH fastball off the cheek.
Chapman was removed from the game as a precaution. He didn’t suffer any broken bones and avoided the concussion protocol.
