Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield may be a rookie, but he’s already handling the tough questions like a veteran.

During Sunday’s 26-18 victory, Mayfield appeared to stare down Cincinnati Bengals special assistant and former Browns head coach Hue Jackson while passing the sidelines, but the signal-caller said such an exchange never occurred.

Jackson was fired as Cleveland’s coach on Oct. 29 after posting a cumulative record of 3-36-1 during his tenure with the team. He then accepted a job with the Bengals shortly after, leading Mayfield to say he didn’t agree with Jackson’s decision to join a division rival.

Following the end of the Nov. 25 game between the two clubs, the pair exchanged a tense postgame exchange.

Mayfield then called Jackson “fake” on Instagram.

Mayfield versus Hue Jackson is not a rivalry at all.

Baker is the future, Hue is the past, and he’s a past that everyone would like to forget.
