In the bottom of the 5th inning of Sunday night’s Braves and Phillies game in Philadelphia, a Bryce Harper foul ball hit a 21-month-old toddler in the head.  The girl was taken to a local hospital where a CT scan revealed there was no damage to her skull or brain.

Via CBS Philly:

Lily was taken by an ambulance to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where a CT scan came back all clear. DiWilliams says doctors originally feared a skull fracture because of the amount of swelling.

Thankfully, DiWilliams says Lily is doing OK after being diagnosed with tissue swelling.

“We are really so lucky that Lily was alert and her happy self after this freak accident,” DiWilliams wrote in a Facebook post.

It’s good to see the young girl will be okay.  It’s also good to see the mother understood that getting hit with a ball is a risk you take when you attend a game.

The only way to 100 percent avoid getting hit with a baseball at a game is to not go to a game.
