Now that Manny Machado has decided to take the money and sign with the San Diego Padres for 10-years and $300 million, the Bryce Harper sweepstakes are expected to come to an end any day now.
Reports are that Harper’s deal will not only exceed many Machado’s deal, it will also exceed Giancarlo Stanton’s $325 million deal.
Via CBS Sports:
The only question is who will land Harper. He is reportedly unsure about signing with the Phillies, who have long been believed to be the frontrunners.
Have been hearing lately Bryce Harper unsure about Philly. They'd better convince him for their sake.

The Padres haven’t ruled out signing Harper as well.
Padres are pulling off one surprise (once Manny’s finalized) but here’s another shocker : they aren’t ruling out Bryce Harper, too. 110M payroll (with MM) is still lower than most.

That would be something else. Both Machado and Harper on the same team, in the same off-season, with $300+ million contracts? Seems like a long shot, but you never know.
