The long-term investment into Bryce Harper by the Phillies is already paying off. Tickets sales were immediately impacted with more than 100,000 tickets sold in less than 24 hours after the signing.
According to Fanatics, Harper also broke the record for the best 24 hours of sales for a jersey launch for any player in any sport. Even more that LeBron James’ Lakers jersey, which is hard to believe.

Whether or not Harper pays off on the field by bringing a World Series championship home in the next 13 years is yet to be seen. But financially, the Phillies are initially recouping some of their investment.
It looks like Phillies home games are going to be filled next season and there will be a lot of Harper’s number 3 walking around.
