The Buccaneers landed the greatest quarterback of all-time this offseason and did so with an offense stacked with weapons.  Tampa Bay nicknamed their attempt to sign Tom Brady “Operation Shoeless Joe Jackson.”

The nickname came from the Bucs director of player personnel, John Spytek, who is a former teammate of Brady’s at Michigan.

The reason Spytek called the pursuit of Brady, “Operation Shoeless Joe Jackson” was in reference to the “if you build it, they will come” line from the movie “Field of Dreams.”
