Quarterback Cam Newton underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his right shoulder Thursday.

The procedure was successfully performed by Panthers team physician Dr. Pat Connor. Newton’s rehabilitation process will begin immediately.

Panthers fans are hoping that Newton’s situation isn’t the same as the one that caused Andrew Luck to miss an entire season.

That might not be the case, prior to the surgery there was talk that the franchise quarterback could miss the entire 2019 season.
