Panthers quarterback Cam Newton reportedly had a physical in Atlanta on Monday, just a day before Carolina announced that he would be released. The former MVP passed the physical with both his shoulder and foot receiving a clean bill of health.
A reunion with Ron Rivera in Washington seemed like a possibility, but the trade between the Panthers and the Redskins for Kyle Allen seems to have put a damper on that. The Patriots and Chargers remain options for a very hungry Newton.
