Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told reporters on Monday that quarterback Cam Newton will make his preseason debut on Thursday against the Patriots. He noted how important the third preseason game is, but didn’t say how long his franchise quarterback would play.
Newton hasn’t seen any in game action since last year when his season ended early due to a shoulder injury and his off-season shoulder surgery. It will also be the debut of his new and improved throwing mechanics.
