If you have always dreamed of seeing an NFL football game in person and you finally have the opportunity to watch your favorite team play, then you should probably familiarize yourself with some of the rules and guidelines you will have to follow on game day.

As cannabis becomes legal in more and more states, those that live in recreational states may be curious as to whether or not they can vape their favorite strain while enjoying the game with their friends.

Because the rules on smoking and vaping at National Football League Stadiums vary from facility to facility, the answer is not as simple as yes or no.

Smoking Policies at NFL Stadiums

Whether you are seeing your local NFL team play at home or you are traveling to another state, you must know what is and is not allowed at the stadium you will be visiting.

Out of the 32 NFL stadiums, smoking and vaping are completely prohibited at 29 locations, so chances are you will not be allowed to use a dab pen inside of the stadium. Let’s take a closer look into the specifics of each location.

Arizona Cardinals – University of Phoenix Stadium

Because of the Smoke-Free Arizona Act, the University of Pheonix Stadium is a completely smoke and vape free facility. They do have three outdoor designated smoking areas where guests are welcome to have a cigarette but vaporizers and e-cigarettes are not allowed in the stadium.

Atlanta Falcons – Mercedez-Benz Stadium

Smoking of tobacco and the use of e-cigarettes and vapes are prohibited and can result in being removed from the stadium.

Baltimore Ravens – Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Per Maryland state law, this is a smoke-free facility. Cigarettes and vaporizers are only allowed outside of gates A, B, C, and D.

Buffalo Bills – New Era Field

Not only are cigarettes and vapes banned, but New Era Field also does not allow lighters, matches, or chewing tobacco. There are no designated smoking areas and re-entry is not permitted.

Carolina Panthers – Bank of America Stadium

Bank of America Stadium is a smoke-free facility. They do not allow cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, or vapes.

Chicago Bears – Soldier Field

Due to the Smoke-Free Illinois Act, smoking is prohibited in Soldier Field. This ban also extends to electronic alternatives. The stadium does not have designated smoking areas and they do not allow re-entry.

Cincinnati Bengals – Paul Brown Stadium

Guests are not permitted to use any tobacco, electronic cigarettes, or vaporizers in the stadium.

Cleveland Browns – FirstEnergy Stadium

Smoking and vaping are prohibited in FirstEnergy Stadium due to Chapter 3794 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Dallas Cowboys – AT&T Stadium

AT&T Stadium does not allow any smoking in their facility. There are two designated smoking areas outside of the stadium. Those that violate these rules may be ejected from the facility.

Denver Broncos – Sports Authority Field at Mile High

Smoking cigarettes, cannabis, or using alternative electronic methods are strictly prohibited. The use of tobacco and marijuana are not allowed in the parking lot or any other area of the property.

Detroit Lions – Ford Field

The use of tobacco, vapes, and electronic cigarettes are not allowed anywhere in the facility. Any use of cigarettes, cigars, and electronic cigarettes is permitted only in pre-approved outdoor smoking areas.

Green Bay Packers – Lambeau Field

Lambeau Field does not allow the use of cigarettes or electronic smoking devices in the facility. Re-entry is also not permitted.

Houston Texans – NRG Stadium

The use of electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, and tobacco is only allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas.

Indianapolis Colts – Lucas Oil Stadium

Per City County General Ordinance No. 44 Sec. 616-201, smoking, using e-cigarettes, or chew less tobacco is prohibited.

Jacksonville Jaguars – TIAA Bank Field

TIAA Bank Field is a smoke-free facility, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vapes. Any guests that fail to follow these rules may be ejected from the stadium.

Kansas City Chiefs – Arrowhead Stadium

Cigarettes, vapes, and electronic cigarettes are not allowed in the stadium. Guests that do not comply after a single warning may be ejected from the stadium.

Las Vegas Raiders – Allegiant Stadium

Complying with the Nevada Clean Air Indoor Act, Allegiant Stadium only allows smoking in designated outdoor smoking areas.

Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Raiders – SoFi Stadium

The use of tobacco, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, and all forms of cannabis are strictly prohibited.

Miami Dolphins – Hard Rock Stadium

All areas within Hard Rock Stadium are smoke-free spaces. This includes cigarettes, cigars, and vapes.

Minnesota Vikings – U.S. Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium is a smoke-free facility, both inside and outside, including vapes, e-cigs, and tobacco products.

New England Patriots – Gillette Stadium

There is no smoking allowed in Gillette Stadium, including electric cigarettes.

New Orleans Saints – Mercedes-Benz Superdome

The Mercedez-Benz Superdome is a smoke-free facility by law. They do have two outdoor smoking areas, which are the only places that you can use e-cigarettes and vapes.

New York Giants and New York Jets – MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium is a smoke-free facility, per New Jersey State law. There are no areas in which cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, or vapes are permitted for use.

Philadelphia Eagles – Lincoln Financial Field

According to the City Ordinance of Philadelphia, smoking in public places, including sports facilities, is prohibited. 

Pittsburgh Steelers – Heinz Field

Heinz Field is one stadium where cigarettes are not allowed but electronic cigarettes are fine. The stadium has no designated smoking areas and re-entry is prohibited.

San Francisco 49ers – Levi’s Stadium

Levi’s Stadium is a smoke-free facility per the Santa Clara City Ordinance. They do not allow cigarettes, vapes, e-cigarettes, or joints. There are designated smoking areas for tobacco but marijuana is prohibited on the grounds.

Seattle Seahawks – CenturyLink Field

Washington State law prohibits smoking of any kind inside of CenturyLink Field. This includes cigarettes, vape pens, and smokeless tobacco.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Raymond James Stadium

Raymond James Stadium is a smoke-free facility. E-cigarettes, tobacco, and vaporizers are all prohibited.

Tennessee Titans – Nissan Stadium

Smoking cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and other similar items are strictly prohibited. Nissan Stadium does not have any smoking areas and they do not allow re-entry.

Washington Football Team – FedEx Field

Smoking is not allowed in most of FedEx Field, aside from in the designated smoking areas.
