Capitals left winger Devante Smith-Pelly put it all on the line in Game 7. He laid out to block Tampa Bay defenseman Ryan McDonagh’s slap shot and took the puck off of the neck.
Smith-Pelly was helped off the ice, but because he’s a hockey player, he would return. That’s putting your neck on the line.
Scary moment as Devante Smith-Pelly takes a puck to the back of the neck.

Smith-Pelly has been a big part of the Caps deep playoff run. Not only does he lay wood, he’s scored four playoff goals.
