After being shutdown by the Pelicans following one Summer League game and having an unflattering picture of himself go viral, rookie Zion Williamson is having even more doubt about whether or not he is in shape thrown his way.  This time by his former head coach at Duke, Mike Krzyzewski.

Coach K told Forbes in a recent interview that he doesn’t believe Zion should have played in the Summer League at all.  He then questioned whether he is physically and mentally in shape to play.

“No, I thought really he never should’ve played just because he’s been on this circuit of awards, the ESPYs, everything,” Mike Krzyzewski told me at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., where he’s recruiting this week. “I don’t think he’s in the playing shape or the mental shape to play.”

Damn coach, you’re supposed to have Zion’s back and sugarcoat the crap out your comment.  There is no other way to take it than he hasn’t been putting in the work since leaving Duke.

Zion better get in shape ASAP, that rookie season in the NBA is right around the corner.
