Cubs manager Joe Maddon was ejected on Thursday for bringing his own fireworks to the ballpark.  He attempted to get his hands on Pirates manager Clint Hurdle.

The early fireworks show started after Pirates pitcher Jordan Lyles threw a pitch up and in to Javy Baez.  Maddon wasn’t a fan of the pitch and wanted to let Hurdle know it up close and personal.

Hurdle was unfazed by the moment and stood on the top step of his dugout waiting for Maddon on the off chance he was able to get past umpire Joe West.

Maddon’s little temper tantrum shows you just how soft the game has become.  You can’t even buzz a guy’s tower without the manager coming out of the dugout to cry about it.
