Rockies second baseman Daniel Murphy found himself in a rundown between home and third after he broke for the plate on a groundball to the first baseman.

Murphy was able to get out of trouble and score on the play after the ball hit his helmet and rolled away.

It’s that easy, just get your head into the throwing lane and take it off the helmet.  It seems like a foolproof way to beat any rundown.

If you aren’t going use your helmet, then why wear it?  You never want to take an out in a rundown that close to scoring a run.
