If the Cubs decide that Joe Maddon’s magic has finally worn off and it’s time to move on they could replace him with a former catcher.  One name that has been thrown around is that of former manager and Cubs catcher Joe Girardi.

According to The Athletic, there’s another backup catcher who could get some consideration.  ESPN’s David Ross has been a name mentioned as a possible replacement.
