Former Yankees pitcher Dellin Betances signed a one-year deal with the crosstown rival Mets on Christmas Eve.  Staying in New York was apparently important to the Manhattan native.

Betances released a statement after signing with the Mets about his desire to stay in New York.  His new team was excited about the signing and wasted no time announcing it once the deal was done.
