Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco was called safe on a play at the plate despite not stepping on home.  The Dodgers never asked for a replay and the run proved to be the difference in the game as the Phillies won the game 2-1.

There are a couple of issues on the play.  One is obviously the Dodgers have to know to ask for a replay.  The other one is what in the world is the umpire looking at?  He is in perfect position to make the call and has an unobstructed view of the plate and Franco’s feet.

Might be time to send the umpire for an eye exam or check into a gambling habit.  This is a terrible call.
