Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb had a solid career in the NFL, but was it a Hall of Fame career?  He says yes and points to Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman’s career numbers as the reason why.

Via TMZ Sports:

“I’m not hesitating on that.  I am a Hall of Famer.  My numbers speak for themselves.  My numbers are better than Troy Aikman’s.  But he has Super Bowl rings and he’s played with Hall of Famers as well.”

Let’s take a look at those numbers.  McNabb threw for 37,276 yards, 234 passing TDs and 117 career interceptions compared to Aikman’s 32,942 yards, 165 passing TDs and 141 career interceptions.

It is true those numbers are better, but McNabb went to five NFC Championship games and only won one of them.  The only win resulted in a Super Bowl loss.  Aikman on the other hand won three Super Bowls and was the Super Bowl XXVII MVP.

We don’t think is regular season numbers being a little bit better than Aikman’s are enough to equal the Cowboys quarterback’s three rings.  But we’ll let you decide.

Is Donovan McNabb a Hall of Famer?
