After six years on the market, former NFL quarterback Drew Bledsoe’s mansion in Bend, OR, hasn’t budged from the line of scrimmage.
Originally listed in 2013 for $9.95 million, the almost 15,000-square-foot home on 10 acres is waiting for a buyer make a solid offer. The property’s price was slashed to $6.95 million in 2015. Since then, it’s simply been a waiting game.

The longtime New England Patriots quarterback said he and his wife bought the 10.3-acre parcel, with views of the Cascade Mountains, in 2004 for $750,000 and spent several years building the timber-and-stone house. An outdoors enthusiast, he emphasized that the house is about 25 minutes from the ski slopes at Mt. Bachelor. Mr. Bledsoe said he loves golf—although he’s “not very good”—so he installed a putting green at the house.
Located in a gated community, the property has plenty of other amenities to entertain Mr. Bledsoe and his four children: there’s a turf field that the family uses for football as well as for soccer, lacrosse and Wiffle ball. An indoor basketball court has 20-foot-high ceilings. Outside there’s a swimming pool with waterfalls, two fire pits and a covered outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and a television, “so I can watch sports while I’m barbecuing,” Mr. Bledsoe said.
How long before Drew lowers it again? Who knows, clearly he’s not in any hurry, which means Drew is doing pretty well for himself. I’m sure he’ll still be relieved when he can finally unload this very expensive home.
