ESPN’s John Brickley took to Twitter following the Colin Kaepernick ad campaign announcement by Nike and took a shot at the former NFL quarterback. He quickly deleted the tweet, but the damage had already been done.

Brickley attempted to clarify why he deleted the tweet by claiming it was taken out of the wrong context and he was actually showing support for the campaign.
Hey everyone I deleted the previous tweet because it was taken out of the wrong context…I meant that Kap has a chance to do some real good with the Nike platform

If we had to guess, there were probably a few of his co-workers at ESPN who weren’t too happy with his original tweet. With backpedaling skills like that “Brick” could probably get a tryout in the NFL as a defensive back.
