Former UFC fighter Frank Shamrock is at the center of a dog abuse scandal.

It is being claimed that he abandoned his dog at a Dallas airport parking garage for multiple days.

In a phone interview with WFAA-TV, Shamrock admitted what he did.

“They can charge me with whatever. I will show up,” Shamrock told the station. “It is what it is. I’m not hiding in any way. It’s an unfortunate and terrible thing. I’m an animal lover, and I ran away crying. … It’s an old dog. No one wants a 6 1/2, 7-year-old dog with a goofy hip.”

Shamrock initially searched for someone to care for Zelda on social media.

However, when he couldn’t find anyone to take her, he then tied the 7-year-old Labrador mix to the bed of a pickup truck and flew out to another state.

Shamrock took to Instagram to says he’s not being investigated and dismissed WFAA-TV reporter Rebecca Lopez’s story as “fake news.”

Fake news, real news. Does it matter?

The guy did a terrible thing, you don’t abandon your dog like that.
