Conor McGregor calls Floyd Mayweather “far from retired” after the boxing great posted a made-up fight poster of the pair under the caption “Mayweather McGregor 2” on Instagram.

Mayweather  has not fought professionally since his 10th-round TKO win over McGregor in 2017.

The American announced his 2020 comeback last year and has a verbal agreement with UFC president Dana White over a combat sports-related project.

The 42-year-old Mayweather then posted a similar fight poster image of himself and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Both posters included Mayweather’s own promotion businesses as well as UFC and Showtime, but do not specify whether these bouts, or Mayweather’s comeback,  would be in boxing or mixed martial arts.

White has long talked about the launch of Zuffa Boxing, the UFC’s new boxing venture, later this year.

However, he had stated that there were a few “speed bumps” along the way and that it is likely be postponed until October of this year.
