Per the release, Mayweather vs. Nasukawa will be conducted under straight boxing rules for three rounds of three minutes each. Both men will wear 8-ounce Rizin gloves and the contest will be conducted at a weight of 147 pounds. There will be no judges, so seemingly no decisions after those three rounds.

The bout between the 50-0 boxing world champion and the 28-0 kickboxing world champion will take place over just three 3-minute rounds and will not count towards either man’s professional record.

There will be no kicking allowed, with the event “contested” under boxing rules, but no judges will score the bout, rendering it virtually meaningless as a spectacle for the fans. The exhibition bout will take place at 147lbs.

At a media day Thursday in Las Vegas, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather speaks with the media ahead of his “exhibition match” against Japanese kickboxing champion Tenshin Nasukawa at Rizin 14 in Japan.

Mayweather talks fighting Nasukawa, never wanting to compete in MMA, Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and more.

Ahead of his Rizin 14 fight with Floyd Mayweather on New Year’s Eve in his native Japan, 20-year-old kickboxing and MMA prodigy Tenshin Nasukawa worked out for the gathered media Thursday in Las Vegas.

Who the hell is going to watch a fight that doesn’t matter.

Floyd will probably lose anyways.
