“Pittsburgh makes so much sense because Ben Roethlisberger is 38,” Tannenbaum said. “His best days are clearly behind him, coming off a massive surgery with his elbow. If you could get the former first pick in the draft who’s taken a team to the Super Bowl, try and get him healthy for a year, you may have his heir apparent right on campus without having to spend a draft choice. I think Cam is all about risk-reward. I’ve always been a huge fan of his. Every defensive coordinator I’ve worked with when we played them, those are the players that keep you up at night. He can attack you with his arm, his legs and obviously for him it’s going to be his health. Him and Clowney still being out there, the common thread is their respective team’s abilities to evaluate where they are physically.”

Cam in Pittsburgh would be an interesting fit.  What Tannenbaum is saying makes sense, but so is his desire to land a starting job.  When he’s healthy Newton is no doubt about it worthy of starting job in the NFL.
