Almost anyone who covers the NFL agrees, the timing of Cam Newton’s release screwed him big time. But that’s not the only way the Panthers have screwed him.
Former Panther Mike Tolbert talked about a pattern of mismanaging Newton by the team that went all the way back to his shoulder injury.
He criticized his former team for making Newton wait to have surgery on his shoulder two years ago. Then for allowing Cam to play on his injured foot last season.
It’s a pattern of mismanagement that led to him being released too late in the offseason to possibly land a starting job.
