Last weekend former Wisconsin receiver Kraig Appleton was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of an Illinois woman.
Appleton was a member of the Wisconsin Badgers football team from 2009 to 2010. He is accused of shooting 41-year-old Kellie Ferrell on April 20.
Ferrell was shot in the abdomen and later died at the hospital. No motive for the shooting has been released at this time.
